If you had a door, would you share it or would you keep it to yourself?

Imagine you are floating far away from everyone and you are not on an inflatable lilo, but on a door. You are not warm, you are freezing cold, and you are with someone who is really important to you. Would you share the door or would you keep it to yourself?

Elision is a solo performance by Gudrun Soley Sigurdardottir exploring national identity through an attempt to stay warm in a fake tropical set. This light-hearted performance explores alikeness, otherness and ideas of belonging. Elision is a performance of joining together or merging different ideas in order to examine our culture of separation and segregation.

Gudrun Soley Sigurdardottir is an Icelandic performance maker and director based in Glasgow. Gudrun creates autobiographical work, questioning authenticity, the rehearsed live moment and ideas around theatrical deconstruction.

Elision was premiered at BUZZCUT Festival Glasgow 2017 and has been in development since. The performance will be presented at Tron Theatre in Glasgow on the 8th November 2018 and at a festival in London in December 2018, soon to be announced. Information on tickets for the Tron event are on the poster at the top of this page.
